Hello again Bookworms!

Well, I have exciting news today!  Next week, we will be having a very special visitor to our school.  Her name is Terri Rose Baynton, and she is the author and illustrator of a lovely book called "Mr Bear Branches and the Cloud Conundrum", which is a finalist in the New Zealand Post Children's Book Awards.

This is a delightful story of two loveable characters, Mr Bear Branches and Lintfrey Longfellow, who are the very best of friends.  I am going to read it to every class in the school this week, to make sure that everyone gets to see it.

So, next Thursday, Terri will be visiting our school, and will be telling us all about how she wrote the story and how she does her gorgeous illustrations.  She will also be giving a workshop to a small but lucky group of children.  And you could be part of that workshop!

Have a look at this awesome video that Terri made       with a friend one weekend.  You might get to know her         a little bit, before you've even met her!

Yes, it's competition time again!  Simply write and illustrate a story about Bear Branches and Lintfrey, the two friends from "Mr Bear Branches and the Cloud Conundrum".  Send them on an adventure and tell us all about it - maybe they will go to the zoo, or out for ice cream.  You decide!  Entries need to be with me, Mrs O'Leary, in the library by Tuesday 18th June, and each entry must have:
  • a title
  • at least one illustration
  • your name
  • your room number

There are some great prizes to be won, including meeting and working with Terri Rose Baynton herself!  Super coooool!  I can't wait to see your entries!

Happy reading (and drawing and writing), everyone!
